Research data from the RemCo project was used in designing two products: the minijoystick radio control (MiniJoystick), and the pendant control series (PKQ). In the minijoystick radio control, a small joystick element is intended to improve ergonomics and is designed to replace push buttons and simplify the user interface.
Diagonal movements are allowed as a default, but the operator can temporarily disable them and use only main directions. The delivery process of the minijoystick radio has been refined to perfection, making it easy for Konecranes to assemble the right setup.
The second outcome of the research was the first pendant control series designed exclusively by Konecranes. The smallest control won the Red Dot award in 2013 together with the CLX chain hoist, proving that state-of-the-art industrial design stands out from the competition.
The pendant control can be used to operate in up to three directions simultaneously. The new button arrangement makes crane navigation easier, which then reduces stress for the operator and helps improve work safety. The pendant series has gone through comprehensive durability tests, which are necessary to determine its ability to endure in harsh and demanding industrial environments. The pendant series have cUL and CCC approvals, and the minijoystick radio has CSA and RTA approvals.(wayup.konecranes)
